There is no escaping the fact that offensive tools and techniques simultaneously improve security and facilitate crime. If we are willing to accept and confront both of these realities, what can be done to amplify the former and diminish the latter? For some time, many of us ranging across the offensive and defensive security poles of the spectrum have laid forth many valuable ideas but the underlying message behind those ideas is often muddied by divisive and polarizing messaging, hampering improvement and perpetuating the status quo. In this keynote, we will consider practical strategies to improve our offensive tool/technique releases as well as strategies to engage in more productive discourse with an emphasis on introspection.
